Principal Read-Aloud at East Rock

Students at East Rock enjoy a book read by their principal, Michael Conte, for Thanksgiving.

Paula Daitzman, who organized the event with music teacher Jean Lawrence, runs a PowerPoint of the books as they are read. Parents, also invited, line the walls.

Henry and Mudge Book Club for First Graders at Mauro Sheridan

Gail Hall's bulletin board for her first grade Henry and Mudge Book Club. Tech facilitator Jim Linehan made the spreadsheet of books along the top and students names down the side on the left.

Students wrote about their favorite books, a selection of which is posted on bulletin board.

Babymouse Book Club at Mauro Sheridan

Gail Hall leverages her collection of wildly popular Babymouse graphic novels into a mini book club. The pink sheet, cut into bookmarks, features a checklist of books. List of character traits (seen here) are one of the topics for discussion in the club which meets during lunch.
